Squatting to a Better Me

I have noticed that my life has gotten a little basic during the football off season. I need to focus my energy in other areas. I want to be a better person. I want to grow and do more in life. I have started by joining more volunteer organizations. I always feel better when I am helping others and giving back. I realized that since I am going to continue to live in Nashville that I need to make it my home. I need to regrow roots here. I need to find a circle of friends so that I can do the things that I enjoy doing with fun people.

First up, is working on my fitness. Working out is so hard for me to be consistent. Maybe it is because I have in such great health and there isn’t a major weight loss goal for me to obtain. I would like to tone up my body in some areas. I went to shape.com to find some of their workout videos for firming up your bum bum. I am hoping that since I have blog that I can use the writing to keep me accountable.

I’m going to try these videos to see how it works. Wish me luck.

Weekend Ramblings

Don’t you hate it when you are sick and it is a lovely weekend? I haven’t been sick in over 8 months. I guess I am due for some runny nose and headaches. I am spending my morning nursing my cold in hopes that I feel better in time for the East Nashville Beer Festival Volunteer party tonight.

So, what do a girl do on a Saturday morning while in the midst of blowing her nose. Catch up on emails and magazine reading.

One bit of good news, I started a new partnership with OXO. I have a new giveaway with one of their products coming soon. Can’t wait!

Nashville Eat & Greet Tours

Don’t you hate learning about new events a little too late. Well I have never heard of the Nashville Eat and Greet Tours until the day after their latest events.

The internet led me to find out about Alimentum, which is a foodie type of website based in Nashville. They recently hosted an event on the 14th that I hated that I missed.

Hot Chicken & Beer Tour

11am to 4pm

Join us for Hot Chicken & Beer. We’ll turn up the heat with tastings and lunch at three of the most popular hot chicken haunts in town (Nashville’s signature specialty!) We’ll get to compare notes and chicken heat intensity (mild, medium, & forget-about-it). Then we’ll douse the flames with a brewery tour and tasting.

On Saturday, spice fanatics hit the Hot Chicken & Beer tour, visiting Bolton’s, Pepperfire and Prince’s and cooling down with a tasting at Jackalope Brewing Company. The $95 tour is 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Lord knows that I am a lover of both Hot Chicken and Beer so I would have love to attend a fun event such as this one.

The cost of a tour like this is $95 which includes chicken at each stop and beer and a tour of the Jackalope Brewery.

Were you able to attend this groovey event? How was it?
