Yesterday was the annual East Nashville Beer Festival in East Park. I was able to volunteer for this sold out event. I had a wonderful time. The weather in Nashville was amazing. The amount of beer vendors was crazy. I totally underestimated the amount of vendors. There were so many different beer vendors that I barely made a dent in tasting them all.
As a volunteer, we got these cool shirts. It was too funny when this guy thought it said Porn Star… All I could do was laugh and walk away…
We also received the same tasting glass as everyone else. I was also allowed to “sample” the beer from our section. Which was groovy. I just knew that I would be placed at a brewery that I didn’t like.
I got the chance to volunteer as a pour’er for the Victory Brewery. No, I had not heard of this beer before. I did find out that Victory was based in Pennsylvania.
I am glad that Victory had their Whirlwind Witbier. It was a great light tasting wheat beer. It was much-needed after all of the heavy beers that was out there.
Everyone seemed to really enjoy Victory Beer. I learned off the fly how to pour a decent beer without too much foam. The 3 hour shift went by fast. The people who volunteered for the 1st shift were able to drink after their shift was over with. Since I was on the 2nd shift, we couldn’t drink prior to our shift. However, the good news is that the ENBF organizers are going to host a special volunteer tasting just for us. Woot!
Have you ever volunteered for a fun festival?
